Guidelines

• Must be a SMDRA Primary or Secondary member in Good Standing
• Nominee must be under the age of 40 as of January 1^st of the current year
• Previous nominees who did not receive the award shall carry over the following year.
• All nominees will be screened by SMDRA staff to ensure they are eligible SMDRA members.
• Consideration of Ethics Violations. Although an ethics violation does not mean your application is automatically disqualified; these are handled on a case by case basis where we will weigh the circumstances of the infraction.

Qualifications

The recipients of the YPN Excellence Award meet or exceed the four core areas of the YPN Mission Statement.  The mission of YPN is to help young real estate professionals excel in their careers by giving them the tools and encouragement to become involved in four core areas:

• REALTOR® Associations attend REALTOR® conferences and pursue leadership roles with their local, state, and national associations.
• Real estate industry. Take an active role in policy discussions and advocacy issues; be informed about the latest industry news and trends.
• Network and learn from one another by attending events, participating in online communication, and seeking out mentoring opportunities.
• Become exceptional members of their community by demonstrating a high level of REALTOR® professionalism and volunteering for causes they feel passionate about.

Selection Committee

• The selection committee shall consist of the previous year’s YPN Award recipients (Affiliate and REALTOR®), President, President Elect, Advocacy Division VP, Member Services Division VP, Immediate Past President, Appointed Past President, and the CEO (non-voting). The YPN REALTOR® past recipient will chair the Committee.
• The person or persons under consideration to receive the award shall be known only to the Awards Selection Committee. The Committee may also submit nominations for consideration.

Timeframe

• A notification shall be made to the general membership in February of each year requesting nominees and shall include the guidelines.
• The Selection Committee shall call its first meeting in March to begin the selection process.
• The awards presentation shall be made by the previous recipient.

• Late submissions will not be accepted.
