SMDRA and IRES Announce SentriLock Full Reciprocity Agreement
LITTLETON, CO AND LOVELAND, CO – OCTOBER 29, 2018: The South Metro Denver REALTOR® Association (SMDRA) in a joint statement with Information and Real Estate Services (IRES), announced a full reciprocity agreement for SentriLock electronic lockbox services.
SMDRA and IRES had previously agreed to a “partial” reciprocity agreement which required additional administrative tasks, manually adding individuals. The full reciprocity streamlines that process, saving time for all involved since individuals are automatically able to access SentriLock services in either market.
This type of collaboration is a growing trend in Colorado, with SMDRA and Pikes Peak REALTOR Services Corp. announcing a full reciprocity agreement earlier this month. IRES and the Pikes Peak organization made a similar announcement recently.
Melissa Maldonado, CEO of SMDRA, is a recognized advocate of electronic lockboxes, stating, “Lockboxes provide convenience to brokers, but additional security for the sellers. It is of utmost importance to enhance the ease of services provided but maintain our members’ and their clients’ security.” While the use of electronic lockboxes is not mandatory SMDRA, the association’s Board of Directors and members, see the value in using this technology and has given away over 2,000 lockboxes in 2018 to SMDRA members and brokerages.
Lauren Hansen, CEO of IRES added, “SMDRA has implemented some creative approaches to encourage SentriLock adoption. We can learn from them and may borrow some of their ideas for our region as well.”
The ability to share SentriLock access creates efficiencies for real estate professionals representing buyers or sellers. Subscribers of either service can use their SentriCard service to access a home. No need to issue a 1-Day Code or SentriConnect access for anyone subscribing to either service. This will save both time and money for the subscribers servicing multiple areas.
This reciprocity agreement between IRES and SMDRA benefits over 10,000 REALTORS®. The expanded service is scheduled to be up and running for IRES subscribers and SMDRA members on November 1st.
