SMDRA in the News – 2019 Diamond Circle Awards Celebration
The 2019 South Metro Denver REALTOR® Associations’s Diamond Circle Awards celebration was an elegant and star-studded gala celebrating the top producing REALTORS of 2018. Awards were given to the top producing agents in several categories; Individual, Rookie of the Year, Partnership, Team, and Offices ranging from 1-5 to 251+ Agents and our NEW Specialty categories.
2018 Oliver Frascona and CEO of SMDRA, Melissa Maldonado presented the Protecting Our Future Award in Loving Memory of Oliver Frascona to Stew Meagher of Metro Brokers-Commonwealth Realty. The Board honored Stew for her years of dedication to the REALTOR brand and service to the Association and community. The Award is given to honor Oliver Frascona, who had served as SMDRA’s legal counsel, teacher, and friend to all before passing away in August 2014.
The event also included a Silent Auction, with proceeds going to benefit Purple Heart, a charitable organization dedicated to providing housing for Service-Connected Disabled and Aging Veterans that is substantial in function, design, and quality fit to welcome home the fighting men and women of America. The auction raised over $5000 to help benefit this organization.
This year’s event took place at the Hyatt Regency DTC on April 12, 2019. Event Emcee was Elizabeth Mendenhall, a REALTOR® from Columbia, Missouri, is the 2019 Immediate Past President of the National Association of REALTORS®. Elizabeth is a sixth-generation REALTOR®, Elizabeth is the CEO for RE/MAX Boone Realty and has been in the business for more than 20 years. As the 2018 President of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, Elizabeth helped drive bold innovation, specifically aimed at heightening NAR’s communications, technology and advocacy strategies. Accomplishments include amplifying real-time member communications, championing fair housing, and positioning REALTORS® as technology advocates to further emphasize the critical nature of the role REALTORS® provide in the industry. Throughout her years of service, Elizabeth has earned numerous industry accolades and awards such as the RIS Media 2018 Newsmaker Award, 2017 & 2018 Swanepoel Power 200, Columbia Area Young Professionals Athena Award Inaugural Honoree, and RE/MAX International Broker Manager of the Year.
