The South Denver Metro REALTOR® Association is proud to announce our new Value Proposition, bringing you the highest level of service and resources in the areas of Networks, Knowledge, and Access. This project began back in November of 2014 with talks of how to strengthen and focus our goal of delivering the highest value possible to our members. After several months of development and discussion, we feel that we have created the best possible promise of value for our members. Although we have always been committed to serving our members, SMDRA hopes that this Value Proposition will bring a clearer focus to all that we do.


Like all good campaigns, our plan has three parts. Each part feeds into and strengthens the others, drawing on SMDRA resources, CAR and NAR information and services, and the skill and contributions of our members. Here’s the breakdown;

Networks: Expanding Your Career and Business Connections
We here at SMDRA know that becoming a licensed REALTOR® doesn’t just mean joining an industry as a professional real estate agent, it means joining a community of like-minded peers and colleagues who are just as eager as you to make new connections. That’s why we host weekly classes, monthly social and charitable events, and why our doors are always open to members. REALTORS® and Affiliates alike are welcome at our Friday Morning Marketing Sessions, which are a great way to meet new people and strengthen old connections while growing your business. Come to our Power Lunches once a month to hear fantastic and helpful seminars from industry leaders like Lawrence Yun (who spoke about Real Estate the Economic Outlook on April 14th), or in-depth panels on Legislative Updates while grabbing a bite to eat. No man is an island, and we’re here to make sure you have access to the fullest resources your community can provide.

Knowledge: Education and Information
Knowledge is power, and power means business. Along with hosting the recommended and required update classes for REALTORS®, SMDRA is committed to constantly find new and exciting topics to keep you as educated and informed as possible. Last month, over 50 people attended our panel on Syndication: Or How Did My Listing Get on That Website?, a controversial and constantly evolving debate on the real estate industry’s relationship with sites like Zillow and Trulia. Every other month we host a New Member Orientation and Ethics Class for newly licensed REALTORS®, and New Affiliate Member Orientations to get them started on the right track. Stay connected and check your email once a week for E-blasts with everything from updates on the latest housing market statistics from NAR, big headlines in real estate news, local events and upcoming classes here at SMDRA.

Access to Answers, REALTOR® Only Tools and Services:
They say “a man is only as good as his tools”, which is why SMDRA is dedicated to providing only the best materials and resources for members. As a shareholder of REColorado, SMDRA connects you to a powerful, accurate, and easy to use MLS. This comes with the benefit of lower rates for members and helpful tips and classes on how to get the most out of your presence on the web. We know your schedules are hectic and life is unpredictable, which is why SMDRA offers not one, but two helplines designed for REALTORS®. Got a legal question and want to stay on the right side of the law? We’ve got your back. Printer’s jammed, your cell phone has a virus, and you’re two minutes away from a closing? Don’t sweat it. Our legal hotline and tech helpline are available round the clock with all the answers to your questions. SMDRA will also be providing easy access to SavvyCard, a mobile app that acts like an online business card, but can do so much more. Imagine a business card that can leap across online platforms, be shared with the tap of a button, links right to your website, and can lead a potential client right to your doorstep. If you need supplies, just come by our office and let our friendly and knowledgeable staff guide you through our inventory of brochure stands, signs and riders, open house accessories, and lock boxes. As a partner with Sentrilock, SMDRA also offers members an in to the latest cutting edge technology that keeps you up to date while keeping your client’s house secure. SMDRA also promotes easy access to Affiliate businesses and services through an online directory, “Find an Affiliate” as part of our efforts to promote and protect the real estate industry as a whole.

“This is really about what kind of value can we bring to our members, what we can do for them, for our brand, and for our industry,” said SMDRA Chair Steve Konecny. This Value Proposition is SMDRA’S promise of value to be delivered, acknowledged, and experience by association members, and the high standards we will now hold ourselves to.  The REALTOR® brand is at risk of being forgotten as the business world moves online, and we need to adapt to survive. This Value Proposition to you, our members, but it’s time for all of us to get involved and “bleed the blue” for our industry.
