CLASS DESCRIPTION: By the end of this course, participants will be able to explain the purpose and value of title insurance to consumers, differentiate it from other types of risk insurance, and describe the two main types of title insurance policies—Owner’s and Lender’s—including their respective coverages and exceptions. Participants will also understand the title search and examination process, identify common claims paid by title companies, and recognize the title industry’s broader economic contributions. Additionally, they will gain familiarity with key rules and regulations governing the title industry, including Colorado DOI Rule 8-3-1 and Rule E-22, and understand their responsibilities and potential liabilities as licensed professionals.
