SPEAKER: Loren Furman, Senior Vice President for State and Federal Relation, Colorado Chamber of Commerce

SPEAKER BIO: Loren joined the Colorado Chamber of Commerce in January 2008 and serves on its leadership team as Senior Vice President. She manages all State and Federal policy issues for the Chamber including energy and environment, taxation, health care, labor and employment, tort/civil justice and manufacturing. Loren leads a lobbying team at the State Capitol and also serves as the primary spokesperson on press/media inquiries.
Loren previously served as Legislative Director for the Colorado Department of Personnel and Administration and worked with the Governor’s Office and Colorado General Assembly on behalf of the Department. In 2002 – 2005, Loren worked as a lobbyist for Floridian Partners on behalf of clients with legislative, budget and regulatory interests ranging from insurance, public safety, telecommunications, IT, business regulation and tort reform. Prior to that role, Loren served as policy staff in the House Majority Office for the Florida House of Representatives.
Loren currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Civil Justice League and served as Board Chair in 2014. She also serves on the Vital for Colorado Board of Directors, Coloradoans for Responsible Energy Development Board of Directors and the Colorado Association of Professional Lobbyists Board of Directors. She previously served as the private sector Co-Chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council.
Loren was named as one of Colorado’s Most Influential Women: Up and Coming by the Denver Post in 2012, and was named a Top Business Newsmaker, Denver Business Journal Power Book Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015. Loren holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Florida State University.
